‘masas de cuerpo’ series

Belonging to the ‘masas de cuerpo’ series, in which filip works by photographing the human body as a compositional medium, ‘mujer pájaro’ (2021) constructs the figure of a bird, paying homage to a powerful and potent femininity. filip uses digital tools that allow him to create compositions that would otherwise be impossible to create.

‘filip es amante de los caballos’ (2020) uses the human body as a means of artistic expression to generate new ideas and figurations. As part of the ‘masas de cuerpos’ series, filip employs digital tools to create compositions that defy the very laws of physics. The work recreates the traditional image of the king seated on his horse, updating the classical codes to contemporaneity.

filip uses the human body as a means of artistic expression and exploration in ‘árbol genealógico'(2022). Belonging to the series ‘masas de cuerpo’, filip shows his interest in capturing ideas through the use of different figures, many of them relevant personalities in the Spanish art scene.

The architectural form of the tree traces a common germ. By bringing together bodies of various shapes and sizes, and regardless of racial, gender, age or physical differences, custic reinforces the idea of a common and universal origin rooted in the shared humanity of all individuals, thus inviting them to overcome rivalry and confrontation.
