Onkaos presents three works from the Stairs & Stocks series by artist Andreas Rau at Catedral room in SOLO CSV. Born in 1990, Rau is a generative artist who explores the relationship between humans and physical and digital environments through the use of code and electronics. In Stairs & Stocks, he combines algorithmically generated staircases with fictional stock market graphics, reflecting on the idea of progress and its repetitive nature.
Each piece, generative and continuously running, evolves in real time, producing new visual combinations and sound variations that never repeat exactly. At regular intervals, all the works in the series momentarily synchronise, coinciding in rhythm and movement before diverging again.
The three pieces on display (#106, #87 and #41) are part of SOLO’s private collection and were officially released by Fakewhale on objkt.com
