Onkaos is delighted to congratulate Madrid-based artist Chino Moya on receiving the Digital Art category of the Premio BMW (40th edition) for his videoinstallation Metapope.
The work is part of Moya’s ongoing series Deemona, a speculative-reality project in which humanity evolves into a post-biological state and artificial intelligence re-constructs civilisation in hyper-optimised environments.
The jury for this edition of the prize —Antonio López, Miguel Zugaza, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Guillermo Solana, and Lucía Casani— underscores the growing relevance of digital media and large-format audiovisual practice within contemporary art discourse in Chino Moya’s work. The award was presented by Queen Sofía of Spain.
