Autobahn, 2026
Real-time traffic simulation on Unity, 5.1 audio system; aluminium kart chassis with custom printed aluminium structure, vinyl-covered acrylic windshield, steering wheel interface, Arduino-based electronics.
Autobahn is a highway of simulated vehicles operating autonomously. With no predetermined choreography or scripted events, the work generates its own behavior through programmed rules—driving personalities, agent interactions, physics—suspending narrative in favor of emergent dynamics: a space shaped by automated decisions and reciprocal interferences.
The work is participatory: each car, acquired by participants, enters the environment with its own speed, mass, and driving characteristics, becoming a temporary agent. Treating simulation as method rather than representation, Nikita Diakur designs the conditions under which a system can fail, congest, or flow, where accident becomes structure and observation replaces composition.

About Nikita Diakur
Nikita Diakur, an artist based in Germany, uses unconventional computer simulation techniques to depict everyday activities, bringing randomness and chaos into his work. These methods result in unexpected and spontaneous outcomes, which are characteristic of his animation style.
Known as the “Ugly” filmmaker, Diakur has participated in several international exhibitions and festivals, winning awards for his films “Ugly”, “Fest”, and “backflip”. In 2021, he ventured into the crypto-art scene with his work “Sharing BBQ,” part of the “Ugly” series.
Additionally, Diakur contributes to the arts community by conducting lectures and workshops. He has also been part of the Artists-in-Residence program at Q21 in Vienna and is a member of the European Film Academy.
