‘face-mapping’

2022

In ‘face-mapping’ (2022), filip digresses about the translation of the phenomena of the digital world and its passage from virtuality to reality. Following the approach to wearables initiated in the screen bag series, filip creates a new sculpture that aims to materialize digital beauty filters.

filip predicts a future in which humans could wear augmented reality devices that modify their face, and takes this idea as far as current technological advances allow. In doing so, he aims to open up the debate and see the evolution of the concept itself, finding enormous interest in the notion of using technology to change our bodily features. filip also benefits from the freedom he has inventing objects as an artist, freed from the pressure of the window that engineers and technologists suffer in tech companies. This allows a new approach to technology, allowing infinite possibilities.
